The first half of the year is almost done. Before you pivot to the next chapter, spend 10 minutes reviewing three things that will shape your finish.
1. Review the Why Behind Your Priorities
Go back to your Priorities and sit with the original intent. What problem were you solving? What result did you set out to change? Even if the color status isn't green right now, ask yourself: are you still moving toward that bigger goal?
Sometimes the hardest part of execution isn't the work itself—it's making sure you're measuring success the right way. Your KPI might not be moving, but that doesn't automatically mean the priority failed. It might mean the metric isn't capturing the real win, or the timeline shifted.
Take five minutes to audit whether your measurement is actually tracking what matters, and then decide if you need to pivot for the last month to see true success.
2. Look Across the Team
Your coworkers are pushing hard right now. Mid-year client requests, competing deadlines, competing priorities—everyone's juggling more than usual. Pull up your Priorities list and look at what your teammates are carrying. Where can you step in and help?
If you manage a team, this is even more critical. Are there Priorities that are stalling because of a bottleneck? Use the new Issues feature to flag blockers. If you see a component of someone else's work that you can help accelerate, create an Issue and bring it to your next huddle. It's the same thinking used in huddle best practices—surfacing problems so the team can solve them together, not silently pushing harder.
3. Show Up in Your Huddles
This time of year, huddles get rushed. Status updates become a checkbox instead of a conversation. A quick five-minute investment each week in your huddle can completely change the finish line.
Come with your Priority update fully thought through. Acknowledge progress (even small wins count). Name what's blocking you. Ask for help. A strong team doesn't finish stronger because everyone works harder alone—they finish stronger because they're actually connected.
The Bottom Line
Take a deep breath. Spend 5-10 minutes this week making a plan to finish the quarter strong. Review the why. Help your team. Show up in the huddle.
Smart moves today lead to big wins tomorrow.
